I understand that my iPad has some arrangement with iCloud and my new desktop has something called Skydrive which is microsoft's cloud thingy....but 1- are things on devices automatically saved in their respective clouds? Or do you have to hit a "save" button somewhere 2 is it possible to sync an iPad with a Microsoft desktop? |

I think you just throw your money into an Apple Cloud and you never see it again...and the stock goes up 1/10000 of a point.

I have a Samsung tablet that uses the Android O/S. It is capable of synchronizing with my Windows 8 laptop. I did set it up, but its not really important to me, so I don't really bother with it. Although these are different O/S I use the Firefox browser in both these machines and Firefox appears to be a mediator between the two. Apple marches to a different tune, preferring to keep its distance from others, so I'm unsure whether they offer an APP that would handle the info transfer to a Windows machine. Usually, programs such as a word processor, have a drop menu with different SAVE options. Its likely that SAVE to the cloud would appear on the menu, along with the usual save option. This would give the user the choice to save to your hard drive, or to save to the cloud. I'll be interested to know if in fact my guess is correct?? Edited by wildie, Sep 14 2013, 05:57 AM.
