When I go to Youtube it freezes. I have Windows 7 and when it searches for the problem and tries to fix it, it may be alright for a couple of seconds before it freezes again. Other than that there does not seem to be a problem with my laptop.

Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it?

Its the download speed of your internet! It happens to me also!

The faster the internet that you buy, the less likely it is to happen.

http://www.speedtest.net/ ( be careful not to click the wrong buttons or you will end up with crap-ware!)

My download speed is about 1.5 m/b and over 2.0 would be much better!

Videos sometime freeze and it is necessary to restart the computer. There are many stupid fixes on the internet and non work. I simply restart and eventually it will get better. I use Chrome now, since for awhile Firefox was intolerable and they couldn't' fix it. Newspaper videos are bad as are some porn sites.

I use Firefox and have never had a video freeze on me, either with Rogers or Bell Internet. Could something with the computer cause this?

I found the same thing last night Schultzy, but this morning it seems to be ok. Maybe it's an intermittent youtube problem?

At 1.5 Mbps DSL phone line videos went from freezing, to buffering, to playing herky jerky like a silent movie.

When I went to 15 Mbps and then to 30 Mbps with a fiber optic service, the problems disappeared.
Videos need a certain minimum bandwidth to be tolerable.

I have noticed several sites going down for short periods of time in the last month. Do you think the government has taken to running them?

You know I even tried for a month to get into the Social Security website with no success, trying every possible permutation of my name and SS number. "The data you entered does not match the data we have on file."

So then I called them and tried starting an application over the phone. They gave me an appointment for a month later when they would call ME.
They then wrote me telling me how I could get most of the application done online...it would save time. And they sent me detailed instruction on how to do it, It was precisely what I had done a dozen times before and it didn't work any better this time.
So when they called I told the agent that I tried the online approach:
His response: "Oh, that never works."
We did the application by phone and a quick visit to the office.

<I'm trying for spousal benefits based on a Domestic Partnership from 2005 in New Jersey. There's a wait time of 9 months and 1 year after a full marriage, not yet done, and I would benefit getting the benefits earlier rather than later. Probably not going to work but the SS regulations are not settled on the matter. But nothing to lose in trying. The ACLU recommended that action in Wisconsin, as did the NY Times.>

A good article is found here: http://www.ehow.com/info_12135535_computer-freeze-during-youtube-video.html

If all else fails .. try using Regcure: http://www.tryregcure.com

Good luck.
