In the last 6 days we have had 2 Thanksgiving dinners and 4 Theater.

Today at noon...NOON?

Lies My Father Told Me...a musical version of the old play from Yiddish Theater at Baruch Arts Center. I have been assured it will be in English...I got fooled once...Oy Gevault.

The Marxist tailor will be my high point.

I have laid down the law: we will stay home the next two days OR ELSE.

An advantage of living in a big city is that you can access any kind of entertainment at any time you want it, -- your choice. I sometimes envy that.

I live in a small town and we must drive an hour to get to theater or symphony. -- But then, I suppose you can drive longer than that just in the city of NY to get to where you are going. Do you use public transit?

Oh absolutely. The car is a faint memory and I've taken a taxi ONCE in the last year...at 2AM to get to the Emergency Room with chest pains.

Senior rides on bus or subway with two rides in a 2 hour 18 minute window: $1.25. Unlimited travel for 30 days: $56.

LIES MY FATHER TOLD me was polished and professional with some lovely songs, but it will not get to Broadway because it is too reminiscent of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
Late lunch afterwards was a new Indian restaurant in an area informally dubbed CURRY HILL...it's right next to MURRAY HILL. bounce and jump045

And now I shall sit home and vegetate for two lovely days. AHHHHH!

I understand how you feel Trotsky and Imjene. To see Stuart Mclean, fabulous storyteller/author on CBC, the other night I decided to stay in town rather than deal with transit and still having to walk 30 minutes. The show was great! Of course this meant dining out, wonderful Persian restaurant my D & SIL often go to, overnight at a hotel then breakfast in the morning. Checked out some of the seasonal sights, shopped and finally arrived home after dark on Thursday. Spent today preparing for everyone to come here for a change for lunch - sort of Thanksgiving (Canadian)/Christmas combined. I am looking forward to Sunday for a break before more rushing about next week.
