Do any of you have them? I would estimate more than 50% of the residents have them in this subdivision, and they are so darn slippery. I delivered something to a neighbour the other day, and they have this type of driveway. I was careful going up to the door, but coming out I had to hold onto their boat in the driveway, and just yesterday I saw the owner heading out to his car at the end of the driveway, and he almost went down. Thankfully, the car was parked sideways by the boulevard, and it stopped him from falling. The chap I walk with has one, but his is like rough pebbles type of finish so not slippery. My daughter has the patterned concrete in patios both front and back of her new place at the lake, and they scare me. Take care, Pat |

This is the leading company that has done many of the patterned concrete driveways in our subdivision, and the picture where you click for the video is an example of what many look like. Each year many have them sealed so they are very shiny. I have heard the men I walk with say that they should never have approved this type of driveway/patio/etc. in a climate such as Canada. http://www.patternedconcrete.ca/ Take care, Pat |

You have to admit they are beautiful and you have to seal them or they will corrode if you drive over them with snow and ice containing salt from your car. |

Oh I agree Campy that they are beautiful, but I am surprised more people do not fall and break something. Myself I still think an asphalt driveway that has a coating applied yearly looks attractive. Take care, Pat |

We just got asphalt and I think it looks intrusive. Our previous driveway was gravel but it caused trouble with the lawn mowing and snow blowing. It looked more natural and fit into our landscape. I guess I'll get used to the other and I do get the practical side of it. |

At my last place I had an air entrained driveway installed and it never corroded. I was there for twenty years and never ever applied a sealant. All concrete in my area comes with air entrainment! http://www.cement.org/basics/concretebasics_airentrained.asp |
