DH and I spent a good part of the day replacing old lightbulbs with the energy efficient ones. In order to replace a recessed bulb in our living room ceiling we had to turn off the motion detector that had been keeping Red and Blue away from the tree, and move a chair to set up a ladder to reach the bulb. We then went on to other rooms and forgot to turn the motion detector back on. A friend had given Red and Blue a stocking filled with cat toys, which we put under the tree. When we next passed the living room, this is what we found: Posted Image |

They are smart too because they can read and know which present was for them. The one sitting down is an exact replica of Rollie the cat I had. Brought tears to my eyes, but she was very well behaved, the canary could sit on her head, no problems, and she loved the dog and the dog loved her. They slept together. As I said, she was scared on tinsel so the tree was safe. |

Somewhere I have a picture of Bonhomme sound asleep tucked in the branches near the top of the tree. It hadn't yet been decorated, and we came downstairs one morning - no sight of the cat. Finally we found him, he appeared to find the pine branches very comfortable. Once it was decorated he didn't go up again. We always made sure that we used unbreakable for the bottom 3 feet or so. |

I don't think they can read, Darcie. We think perhaps one of the toys in the stocking has catnip in it? |

So cute. At least they stuck to their own stocking and didn't climb the tree. |
