So, I'm off this afternoon for another pig-in-a-poke called SQUONK OPERA: MAHEM AND MAJESTY.

http://www.squonkopera.org/

The Times liked it so we shall see what we shall see. Sounds a little circusy again. But it's a short trip and there's a cute Hispanic restaurant around the corner that we were looking to try. (My usual choice: Pernil, arroz Amarillo, frijoles negros e platanos maduros...$9.99)

Doesn't sound like Texas Mexican but it does sound good.

Food good, show was appalling. It was 3 overamplified geriatrics and a woman screaming like Janis Joplin.
It was vaguely reminiscent of hard rock perhaps for someone who had not lived through it.
It was also a small house so it was DEAFENING.

We lasted 20 minutes and bailed.

You win some you lose some.

Can you believe people were wearing shorts on the street today?
