I used Sunlight scent free detergent for ages and now I can't find it in any of the stores. Does anyone know who sells it these days, or has it been discontinued? Is there another scent free brand except for Tide (I'm allergic to Tide)? I used Amway for years until they changed the formula and had to stop using that one. I'm now using baby detergent but have to use a double rinse to cut down the perfume smell. |

I just bought 4 jugs (2.03 L. each) at Canadian Tire. It is on sale right now, so hurry in! -- That's Arm & Hammer.

Thanks Imjene. If it's on sale there it will probably be on sale at other stores soon. There was no Arm & Hammer unscented at Superstore but I'm happy with the Sunlight unscented. |

I'm using Tide unscented right now. My husband is the one who is allergic to scents, but seems to be okay with any of the unscenteds that I have tried. I guess everyone has different sensitivities. I often wonder why they don't make most products unscented. You get so many scents flying around from the various products that one might use that it is no wonder they clash, causing even more irritation! Just try going to a public concert or gathering where everyone is wearing a different scent. :nooo.gif: |

I can't stand to be out in my yard when the people next door do laundry; the scent is just too strong. I had a bad reaction to Tide decades ago so am afraid to try their unscented product. It was too cold and windy here to go to Can. Tire but I will be on the alert for sales and stock up on Sunlight next time I see it. |

Wasn't Arm and Hammer touted years ago as being detergent free, biodegradable, basically just "washing soda," aka sodium carbonate. It had the reputation of not being a very good cleaner. Has that changed? |

David: thanks for the info. I bought a "green" detergent but it was also highly scented. Sometimes when I buy these products, I end up using them to clean the toilets! Some green products are made from plants and I'm sensitive to some plants which is why health food products aren't always the best for everyone eg. the vitamin c which gave me hives. It contained strawberry leaves which were labeled in tiny print that I hadn't noticed. Some of these products are probably very good but there's a lot of trial and error involved and they are usually more expensive. I will read labels more carefully next time. |

I buy my sunlight unscented at Safeway. Yesterday they had the large size [64 loads] on for $9.99, regular price around $ 14. Some times they have it @ buy one, get one free. |

agate: thanks but we don't have a Safeway either. I suspect that No Frills may have it and will try there next time. Meanwhile, I have enough to last at least a month. There is so much road construction that I haven't been to No Frills in ages but will brave the mess one of these days when the weather is decent. |

We buy our unscented dish detergent at Giant Tiger but maybe you could order online? Its called Nature Clean. Its made in Canada & the website on the back is www.naturecleanliving.com Hope this helps. Another thing people fall for is the amounts they use. We always water ours down quite a bit. People think they need all those bubbles & froth to have clean dishes...nope. Same with laundry detergent. We use fragrance free. There's a difference between unscented & fragrance free & you don't need the enormous amounts the product company suggests you use. good luck |

I found some scent free laundry detergent at No Frills and have enough to last until summer. Maybe Superstore has it now too. I usually get my Ivory unscented there too. We don't have a Giant Tiger here but I keep hearing how much people like it. Maybe it's worth a drive to another town. |

Yes, we don't go every week but many times they have far better sales than No Frills or WalMart. Plus, did you know there's NO time frame as far as returning something? Just keep the bill. Wait until you need a few things, including towels, etc then make a trip of it. I imagine you could look at their flyer online too. Have fun |

We had almost 50 degrees today and even with both radiators turned off we still had to open a window. Our laundry room is 150 feet down but STILL in came the smell of the poisoned dryer sheets and I got a splitting headache. To get rid of it I needed to get out of the house. You know what they most smell like to me? The disinfectant they use on an apartment when a body is removed after a couple weeks of decay. |
