Here we are on the day before 2014 and the American government can't produce the demographics that would paint a clear picture of what is happening on the government health care web site. Expecting excellence is being lost in favor of apologizing or finding excuses for a web site that took 3 and 1/2 years to put together.

To clarify what I mean, website cookies are annoying but provide the web site operator with the ability to gather accurate information about the site's visitors. This will explain what I mean.

Most Internet cookies are incredibly simple, but they are one of those things that have taken on a life of their own. Cookies started receiving tremendous media attention back in 2000 because of Internet privacy concerns, and the debate still rages.

On the other hand, cookies provide capabilities that make the Web much easier to navigate. The designers of almost every major site use them because they provide a better user experience and make it much easier to gather accurate information about the site's visitors.

This is an example of what excellence used to look like in 3 and 1/2 years. I checked snopes to see if this info was false but couldn't find anything contradicting the numbers.

During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

How American's managed to get to the point where low expectations are being met and defended I don't know. What is obvious no matter how or when meeting low expectations began the process is doing well now. The best example I could find of how low expectations are being met.

1.1 million Americans signed up for Obamacare

December 29, 2013, 5:35 PM|The Obama administration is reporting 1.1 million Americans have enrolled for health-care insurance through HealthCare.gov and will be insured as of January 1. CBS News' Chip Reid reports on a new campaign by the administration to identify positive aspects of the law.
http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/11-million-americans-signed-up-for-obamacare/

No mention of the 5.9 million no longer insured because of being dropped because of the langauge in the A C A. Hyping 1.1 million while ignoring the 4.8 millon no longer covered works for those desparate to promote failure as a success.

I don't hate and I don't want to see failure I want high expectations met.

Conservatives on one hand have no confidence in government run programs, private industry knows best; yet here you are saying that you expected excellence in the ACA. From design to implementation... You speak out of both side of your mouth, Phillip, and unfortunately understand little of what you are saying here. For example, the 1.1 million is from the federal government website; that number does not included the millions signed up in the state exchanges. Further, please show me evidence that 5.9 million people are no longer insured because of being dropped. I don’t want to see the hyperbole that accompanied the announced cancellations but evidence that none of the 5.9 millions have replaced their policies.

Phillip's cherry picked numbers aren't accurate as I mentioned previously. The latest numbers. Expectations for failure are slowly dimming.

Since the beginning of open enrollment, millions of Americans are gaining access to health coverage–many for the very first time—thanks to the Affordable Care Act. The most recent data indicate that more than 2.1 million people have enrolled in a private health insurance plan through the Federal and State-based Marketplaces since October 1.

snip

Additionally, 3.9 million Americans learned they’re eligible for coverage through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in October and November. These numbers include new eligibility determinations and some Medicaid and CHIP renewals.

We are encouraged that over 6 million people have been enrolled in Marketplace or Medicaid coverage since October 1, and will work to give millions more Americans the peace of mind that comes with health security in the months ahead.
