Some sites say daily brushing but I have not found that frequency necessary. My last Apso/Terrier needed a full time hair dresser but Roland does not. Chihuahuas are smart dogs and will learn to rule if they are allowed, otherwise they like to please their owners. I took care in training Roland or friendliness and watched a few of Caesar's dog training videos, available at the library. No way I wanted to have a cranky tiny dog. The girls tend to be yappier than the boys.

Lots of great images here re: long coat.

I watched audition calllbacks for Annie today including 3 dogs vying for the role of Sandy. There was one very handsome boxer and 2 lovely Goldens, one very red and one gold. The boxer was young and rambunctious and just wanted to lick the girls as they sang a few lines from Tomorrow. The red Golden stole the show and got the part. As the would-be Annie started to sing the dog turned and gazed up at her and then raised her paw so that Annie and Sandy were holding hands. Generally speaking there is no applause at auditions, but no one could resist. The dog will be a scene stealer.
