Incentive to finish setting it up!

As it is right now my update on things will be here, FB and Instagram - to keep friends and family in the loop.

The latest - after renewing her Vietnamese visa in order to apply for a Chinese visa my youngest D was stymied by the expected paperwork. Who carries around reams of paper when backpacking? She has everything online. All so silly considering the application form is the same as the one I filled out here. So, she will not be joining me. Instead, if at all possible, I might meet her in Siem Reap, Cambodia to go to Angkor Wat as I will have visited the main places I want to see in China. The remainder of my trip was going back to some favourites so a new country could be an interest diversion.
Much will depend on cost and types of transportation.

Well that did not work. I cannot figure out how to make a direct link. So far it is s matter of copy then paste into a search engine. I did ask my two Ds, eldest is visiting, and so far we are have been unsuccessful. I hope there will be enough time to figure it out. I know it is possible, just look at how easy it is to read Dogs and Avocados.

Agate, let me know if you have any success copying and pasting. I finally have a home page, wrote something and have some photos.

First couple of sentences.

I’ve packed my bag, I’m ready to go.

I like to be prepared. This generally means my bags are packed up to a month before my departure date.

Great! I hope to add a couple of pre-China posts, including the ferry ride just because I enjoy it so much. If anyone has something they want me to include, or not, let me know. No promises.
Okay, now I am getting to being excited!

By my calculations you have 24 to 48 hours to go. Travel safely, have fun, post lots. Loved the pandas. sooty

Now that I am back, still somewhat jet lagged, I want to ask those here if posting my adventures here would have been preferred? Next trip I might do my blog and here, depending on what my daughter is willing to do for me.

Next place, Ontario again, for one chilly month. This will prepare me for northern China, possibly Tibet, definitely Inner Mongolia, and the Trans-Siberian rail if I can fit it in. I guess that would include Russia. The tentative plan is for 2017. To my horror the Harbin Ice Festival starts on Jan 5/17, one of my destinations. This time I will do everything possible to avoid the Golden Week, Spring Festival. Unfortunately, this holiday often extends to be five weeks for students and teachers so it might prove difficult as I do not get home from ON until Jan 13.
I will keep everyone posted.
