Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Sobey’s Inc are recalling Compliments Brand Stir-Fry Vegetables due to possible Listeria contamination. This recall was triggered by CFIA test results. More tests are being conducted which may lead to further recalls. Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die. The affected product was sold in Ontario only at Sobey’s Inc stores If you have this product, do NOT consume it! Thanks for posting about recall. Sometimes it is the only warning I get. I don't use frozen veg but I can certainly see the convenience for someone living alone. This is valuable information. Thks Darcie. |
