Darcie, thank you for sharing. It was very interesting; I will have to watch some of the other rail shows. Currently looking into Via Rail to go across Canada - not nearly as exciting as some countries.

A very inexpensive rail journey is Tazara from land locked Zambia to Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean.

It leaves Kapiri Mposhi (Zambia) Tuesday late afternoon and ETA Dar isThursday but there,s more

Rarely does it adhear to that and our journey had us in to Dar midday Friday but during a long stop just inside Tanz we had a soccer game with local village kids--an experience I cherish
