A Surrey, B.C., woman says the thieves targeting her super mailbox are getting so sophisticated they now appear to have copies of the keys, enabling them to steal mail whenever they please.

The issue is bound to raise concerns for millions of Canadian living in urban areas who will soon have their home delivery replaced with super mailboxes.

Christine Larsen said she is furious about the lack of security of her super mailbox.

"We've been broken into five or six times," Larsen said.

The first few times a crowbar was used to get inside the community mailbox, but then she says, "They seemed to get hold of the actual key."

Now, Larsen said they can come and go as they please.

"We don't know when we're going to get hit again."

I already use FEDEX, they are more reliable, Post Office delivery is for junk mail and flyers.

I have had cheques stolen out of my outside mailbox before as well as new credit cards and a government letter.

That is why I put a slot in my door where I used to live.

We have indoor community boxes in this building and in the 1-1/2 years I have lived here there has been 2 break-ins of the boxes.

Maybe they could divert laid off employees to become investigators?

Your fellow building dwellers must be of questionable character if your indoor boxes are being pilfered. What part of town are you living in? Must be the wrong side of the tracks! :Hmmmfrown:
