I've had one of these for some time and finally decided to use it. Yesterday I froze chicken and a bunch of asparagus that I roasted with parmesan and olive oil and packed in portion sizes . It's quite fun although my daughter would tell me I need to get a life! However, I may have messed up on one item. I bought one of those huge bags of mixed vegetables at Costco and decided to repackage it into three smaller packs. Usually the frost gets into these huge bags before I use them up. I put a third of the bag into the food saver bag cut from a roll, drew out the air and sealed it. Upon looking at it , I wonder if it will now be one big frozen lump when I open it. Does anyone know if this will be the case? I also have a huge bag of peas that I want to repackage but want to be sure they will be free running when I open the bags. |

My daughter swears by food savers, but she doesn't buy frozen vegetables but does freeze leftovers. I have never had her complain about this problem. |

If I have frozen food frozen into a lump, I zap it for 10 to 20 seconds in the microwave to loosen things up! |

I finally talked to my son who owns one and bought me this one last Christmas. He says that as long as the food was frozen, the vegetables will come apart when I break the vacuum seal. I'm hoping to find some green, yellow, and red peppers on sale to freeze for chili, etc. |
