Not much notice for consumers eh!
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/enbridge-seeks-40-natural-gas-price-increase-1.2572366 And the feds gave us pensioners a 0.9% increase for the year. Sometimes you wonder if it is all worth it. |

OK taxpayer trying to keep warm and cook your food, smile as you give your money to the benevolent Oil Corporation and the government. Do they give a damn? Will someone please tell me about the stated (hehehe) profit of Enbridge last year? |

I thought this increase sounded ridiculous when I heard it repeatedly yesterday on various Canadian stations. Makes one wonder if we have an usually warm winter next year if they will reduce the price. Yeah I know ...... dream on. Take care, Pat |

Since both heat and hot water are by natural gas in my house, I'm not happy. A single extra cold winter should not justify a permanent price increase but that's the joy of government regulators. I guess this will inspire all the anti-fracking crowd to redouble their efforts since they seem to like paying high prices for natural gas energy. |

That seems extreme. I wish we were privy to all of the reasons for doing this. The rich will not notice, but it all spills over to people on fixed incomes, who will definitely notice. That along with the increase in food prices and everything else will result in putting more people out on the street. :cold: In simplistic terms, the government will (hopefully) have to put out more money to house and support these people. Go figure. 017 |

And Union Gas in London is asking for 28% increase. Enbridge has permission to reverse their east/west line from the government. Guess they have to make sure that the cost of this comes from our pockets and not their profits. |

If it were paid for from their profits, there would be no profits. No profits - No Company. What then? |

People whine and complain about taxes and revenue tools which are required to make up shrinking revenues because of the corporate tax breaks, off-shore tax havens, secretive bank accounts and bailouts. But the people who whine about those staunchly defend the same corporations and the top 1% who suck up all the wealth from our society. |
