The rape scene over Joffrey's body was not written thus. Jaime did not rape cersai. That was consenting sex over her dead son's body. I point this out because it matters to further character development.

Book readers were very upset over the way this was perceived by the tv audience. Producer's explanation did not silence the critics of the scene.

I never for a moment thought this was anything other than consensual sex. Perhaps with a bit of seduction and enticement on Cersei's part, but usually there is always ONE partner who initiates sex, right?

I'm surprised anyone would consider this a rape or anything approaching rape.

<Oops, I didn't realize the sex was over Joffrey's body. Had I done so I'd have hoped they both ****** the corpse, and then thrown his body to the dogs.>

Anyone want to weigh in on what made Joffrey such a monster? Who trained him that way?

I think he was the product of a loveless marriage void of respect. Robert and Cersei were ambitious and neither had the parenting skills needed to teach a child like Joffrey.

He was probably born that way. Genetically predisposed. Consider his grandfather.
