What a great story to begin the day. However, I do not understand anyone letting a 2 kg puppy off leash in a ravine. For those who want to let dogs run, they should frequent a well controlled off leash park rather than a ravine inhabited with wild life. Thank goodness Georgie and his owner came along and saved the day ..... er saved Willow.

To suggest Willow the chihuahua was almost dinner for a hungry coyote in an Etobicoke ravine last month would be an exaggeration.

At about 2 kilograms, the nine-month-old pocket pooch would have been “an hors d’oeuvre, at most,” says her owner, Carolyn Falle.

Would have been is the operative phrase here. The only thing that saved Willow from the jaws of certain death when she came snout to snout with a coyote during a daybreak walk in West Deane Park was Georgie.

If you allow a tiny dog to roam on its own in a ravine what did she expect would happen??

Some folks should not be allowed pets if they endanger them....

Our neighbours has their Jack Russell torn to pieces and eaten by coywolves. It is only a matter of time in my estimation until a small child gets attacked then they will have to do something about these dangerous beasts

GoldenGal: Great story. Coyotes are very adaptable and cunning.

I agree. We often see posters with a picture of a cat and a "missing cat message". It doesn't take much imagination to know that the cat was a coyote meal.
