Actor Bob Hoskins, who appeared in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Hook and Brazil, among other films, has died at age 71. He had been hospitalized with a bout of pneumonia, according to Associated Press.

A diverse résumé of roles varying from the Peter Pan pirate softie Smee in Hook to the ever-complex J. Edgar Hoover in Nixon – the latter of which earned Hoskins a Screen Actor's Guild nomination – made the British-born actor familiar yet unpredictable to moviegoers. Hoskins first caught critics' attentions in the 1980 gangster movie The Long Good Friday and the 1983 country-in-upheaval-themed Beyond the Limit, both of which earned him BAFTA noms.

RIP. A wonderful performer. I've loved him for 40 years ever since I saw him in the British tv production 'Pennies from Heaven'.

I'm so sorry to read this...he always brought something extra to his films.

Notice how many people are dying after suffering long bouts with pneumonia. An 86 year old friend survived but it took a months in the hospital.
Seems the bugs are getting stronger in spite of the touted "pneumonia shot" we all get.
