Multi-talented international tenor Rolando Villazón uncaps his felt-tip pen and with a few expert strokes brings alive the beautiful courtesan Violetta Valery and her young admirer Alfredo Germont, in Verdi's great romantic opera, La traviata. His sparky animation and charming narration, recorded exclusively for Sinfini, takes us through their meeting, their brief joy and the tragic denouement of their great love story.

The second is from La Boheme

ROFL...
How to save 6 hours.

My best Traviata spoof was done by the Theater of The Ridiculous (before they all died of AIDS)
It was called Camille and the lead was played by the comic genius Charles Ludlum.
In Act 2 (in the country) Ludlum comes in wearing a velvet off the shoulder dress covering only his nipples carrying about 3 dozen long stemmed red roses looking vibrant with new love. She clups in on wooden shoes.

But the comic image is that he has the jet black hairiest chest you've every seen.
Smiling as coyly as a teenage lover, the image caused the most uproarious laughter I think I ever heard in the theater.

It is also the same story as my favorite Garbo movie, the silent A WOMAN OF AFFAIRS, 1929...the punchline "she died for honor," a role she honed for the talkie CAMILLE.

Allie, did you ever hear the recording of Anna Russell's THE RING OF THE NIEBELUNGS...pee in your pants hysterical.
I wonder if it's on you tube.
