Farmer propagates white skin kumara Could white kumara be the next thing for Kiwi cuisine lovers to sink their teeth into? An "albino" kumara crop has Kaipara farmer Bryce Hunter wondering if his home-grown variety could have a future place at the dinner table. He's been growing the unique white skinned kumara since 2011 after finding a "freak one" in his crop of reds. "I kept it, propagated it, and now we have a white. It's essentially a white skin, red kumara," he says. The crop has stayed true to form through the last three years and Hunter now plants whites in conjunction with reds. Source Link |
