Last night it was NY City Center's Encore production of IRMA LA DOUCE. Jesus what a terrible show. The plot is one of the dumbest in the history of writing since Fun With Dick And Jane. The music is completely lackluster...I doubt that any of the songs had much more of a vocal range than Three Blind Mice. If the singers were talented you'd never know it from what they had to sing. Choreography was near nil. We made it through Act 1 and ran for the hills/subway. (I need a good show to bolster my morale.) Edited by Trotsky, May 8 2014, 04:29 AM.

I saw it years ago and Juliet Prouse (sp?) was in it. It was in a summer theatre in New England someplace and was OK for a summer night out. I wouldn't see it again. |
