I realize not that many here are into country music, but if Lilal has not seen this, I know she and her hubby will enjoy it. I have seen so many of these artists in concerts over the years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNhk1M-lTF0 Take care, Pat |

My favorite singer as a young kid was Wilf Carter. We use to light the airtight in the morning and listen to a few songs by Wilf from CKBI PA until the battery went dead on the radio. "The little Red Patch on the Seat of my Trousers" was probably my favorite. Later as an adult I first heard Johnny Cash and certainly he was most enjoyable and superior to Wilf. I still stop and listen to Johnny Cash when I hear him. Along lines of music, I also remember how astonished I was that some people hated the Bagpipes. Total shock. Some people just have no culture. |

Durgan .... Our neighbour, two houses over when we lived in Toronto, played the bagpipes and how I loved them as did all our neighbours. I loved the Countrymen - Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Made me sad to watch The Countrymen in Las Vegas after the Tribute to Johnny Cash as two of them are now gone. Take care, Pat |

Never a Country fan I but there are some that were greats, Johnny Cash being one of them. I even watched his show in the '70's when I was much younger though generally Neil Young was the closest I ever got to Country Music. |

Oh Dana .... I watched all those shows too. Think they were on Monday or Tuesday night. I love all of the Highwaymen. and Kris Kristofferson, who wrote Sunday Morning Coming Down, is high up on my list of favs as is Willie. The first time I ever saw Waylon Jennings at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto was when he was a real rebel, and I thought he looked so greasy looking. Sure changed once he met and sang with Jessie Coulter. Thank goodness for Youtube as we can relive so many memories. Take care, Pat |

Johnny Cash is always a pleasure to hear. Eddy Arnold and Cash were the first two concerts I ever saw. |

Im not a country fan but I liked Hank Williams and Stompin Tom Connors. I loved Patsy Cline, and still think she was the best. Later on I acquired a taste for the three country singers who got in trouble for dissing the pres and the war .. The Dixie Chicks. I have a pretty broad taste in music but I hate female opera singers- give me a headache, really. And I will run a mile the minute I see a bagpipe. BTW - I have a little clip of Cab Calloway at his best doing Minnie the Moocher that I wish I knew how to share with you. There is no way y'all wouldn't love it. But, having no smarts, just taste, I'll just have to ask you to trust me, it's the shit. Edited by angora, May 19 2014, 11:49 AM.

I was raised on "country music"! My dad taught me to dance, to the music of many of these artists! I so enjoyed the many dances of the day. The Maritime boys in the force could do a "mean polka"! I miss those fun times. |
