Nice shot. . Is the foliage not green or is it just the lovely light? |

I have a magic fountain clematis I bought at Superstore that supposed to be a miniature. It seems to be getting taller this year than the 4 ft. it's supposed to be and hasn't bloomed yet. I also have a Multi Blue that's has the same fluffy center and it's been blooming for a couple of weeks now. Last year I cut most of them back to the ground as the leaves were brown and dry and I was afraid of wilt. They look OK so far except for Henryi and I've cut off a couple of its droopy stems. Maybe I should cut it back down to the ground when it's done blooming. |

Neighbor years ago had an arbor of ruby red clematis. Every time I visited my mother I marveled at the beauty. |

Thanx everyone. All I did was pop it into the ground about 5 years ago. Dana, the leaves are green. My friend, Shaunna, is a professional photographer. We met last year when I was doing my 7+ year volunteer Sunday morning stint as the official greeter at a local public garden. At the time I was soliciting donations for the Island Animal Shelter (WAIF) auction on which I am on the event committee and DH is on the board of the shelter. She donated a one hour photography session, for which, at the auction, I made the highest bid. We have become good friends, and instead of a one hour session, almost everytime she drives through our town, she stops and takes a photo or two of our garden which I hope to put on a DVD to send our garden loving friends who cannot visit us, for Xmas this year. She is not your usual wedding/graduation photographer, but a artist, and her work will be displayed this summer in many art galleries. That's why so many of the garden photos I have posted here are sp exquisite. As an artist, and not merely a photographer, she manipulates background, etc. to make what the subject of the photo is stand out more, which she did in this photo. |
