My bill went up this month. The basic phone rate went up $2 and internet $5. I am told it is to increase services in outlying areas. Not so strange, but I really do not believe them, or any corporation for that matter. My pension doesn't see increases yearly to even match one month of these increases let alone all other increases. Bah Humbug. Need to ask this, my girlfriend who is a recent widow is volunteering with a group of women who have been tortured and abused. She is teaching them how to make jewelry and since the organization has no money she has been paying for the supplies herself. I have gathered a lot of old bead jewelry to send to her. She works out of Minneapolis so if anyone has old stuff to donate would you please PM me. I can either arrange for you to send it to her or???? whatever we can arrange. Hope this is not against the rules. |

Sure glad I gave those assholes the shove. Their service was terrible and their rates outrageous. I have gone from paying $250 plus a month for a land line, satellite tv and internet to about $80 for land line, internet, over the air tv and Netflix. All excellent. |

Living in this little box in this condo building I don't have the options you have. I guess it will have to be less wine. At $139.9 for gas I also will not be traveling far. |

Pays to complain, I just got a call, they are giving me a $5 discount on my internet service and a $5 discount on my phone service. Better than nothing. |

Are you tied to bell for phone and Internet because of the condo association? If so that is ridiculous. My service provider is in Chatham. |

Way better than Rogers, all I know is that this is the way it is here. Everyone in the building has one or the other. Should find out. I pay $27.16 for phone with unlimited North America calling. $47.28 for unlimited internet $75.95 for their 'Better' TV with a HD PVR box. My cell is not with them. |

Wow, the cost of your phone with unlimited North America calling is a bargain. All I have with Bell now is my house phone which is $36. My long distance is with Telehop, and I would actually switch my land line to them as well, but it is connected to the Internet. I do not pay for Internet or cable as I am connected to my daughter's service. Take care, Pat |

Our bill for high speed internet, and land line went from 65.00 with Telus to 80.00 per month. I called and complained, threatened to go to Shaw. The girl replied saying our rates are comparable. I said I can't afford your rates so I'll see what they can do! After holding for about 15 minutes, she came back and said the best they could do was a reduction of 5.00 off each! They must've reconsidered, as my bill was 50.00!!! We are with shaw for our T.V. and that's a 100.00 per month. They have these bundles that you have to purchase, to get the channels you want. This just truly ticks me off. I heard at one point the gov't was putting forth legislation to eliminate this, however nothing has come to pass thus far! |

I was as well when I was living in Montreal. They went from Videotron to Bell Fibe, what a horrid service, they have now gone back to Videotron. I have no idea how much it costs. Their internet is paid for by my sil's company as he needs a secure internet for work, whatever that is. |

Tell me about those bundles, I want BBC Canada, for that I have to get a bundle that costs me $10 a month. I get a bunch of channel I don't want. Did you think that the beloved PCs would ever follow up on that little thing? Just like the cell stuff...... |

I know Darcie, it's ludicrous. I wish the gov't. would take a serious look at these injustices. |

It seems that you have to call and complain to Bell and they give you a discount - but it only lasts for a year and then you have to call again. |

And, you have to say you just can't afford their rates and will be looking around for something less costly. |

To add insult to injury. I buy a timbit from Tims's for my dog periodically and found it went form 20 cents to 25 cents last week. This is probably to offset the rise in minimum wage for their employees. I have a friend who dropped his phone. He uses a call box which is close to him for dialing out. I think he has an antenna for TV, so pays nothing. |
