High Cost of Potatoes!

Today I had to stop at Zehrs to pick up a prescription. While I was there I would get a bag of potatoes as I have a BBQ tomorrow... I'd make potatoe salad. Not going to happen....

I was stunned to see the ridiculous cost of potatoes. $7.98 for a 10lb bag. 5 lbs were at $5.98..I was shocked to say the least! I spoke to the produce manager asked him what the deal was, his response these were new crop the peek potatoe and I asked if he really believed what he just said. He admitted he didn't know why they were so high. Onions peppers.... Yes there are other cheaper stores around and I normally go to Freshco but not everyone can go to the lesser costing stores due to transportation costs or issues...

I am sure we are going to see a lot of things highly inflated in the next coming weeks....with various reasons why.....

I get bananas at corner stands...all over Manhattan. Pricey ones are $.25 each, cheapies are 5/$1.

We eat lots of bananas. Blueberries another bargain.
