Double Roll?

How can Royale continue to call their product a 'double roll' when it is now almost 1/3 less than previously?

I noticed that the remaining roll in the bathroom seemed larger than the new ones I was re-stocking with. I happened to have an older package and see that the older rolls held 270 sheets where the new ones have only 200!!! Still under the same 'double' label though. A better price, making it look like a real bargain on 'sale'. Is it really a bargain any more ? This used to be a regularly bought product. I am going to look around now that I have noticed this quiet change.
Brand loyalty? Forget it!

Pretty bad out there when you have to start counting toilet paper sheets so they don't scam you.

I don't trust any of them whatsoever.

That's how they confuse or fool consumers. The "sale" product is smaller than the regular one.

I am going to check the numbers on this one when I can remember such a trivial thing. If I find that the 'single' roll numbers do not double on the 'double' roll I will complain about false advertising to someone.

Yeah, eyeballing the roll can be deceptive! You also have to look at the size of the cardboard roll and wonder if they wind the paper more loosely to make it look bigger.

I'm sure the cardboard rolls are bigger in diameter than they used to be.

I gave up fighting the "double roll" and even "triple roll" nonsense and see no need to pay for the advertising of CHARMIN, ANGEL SOFT, or COTTONELLE... so now it is whatever they want to call what I buy at the dollar store and it is 4 rolls for a buck at 175 2-ply sheets per roll ($.25) so $.0014 per sheet.

The brand: "the Home Store," and it serves its lowly purpose.

For a while, the bargain hunter in me chose Marcal with 1000 sheets when on sale at $.50 per roll, cannot beat that price ($.0005 per sheet) but the single ply sheets were too easy to perforate with a finger...yecch. And they were "hard," tending towards newspaperlike.

Personally I like a makeshift bidet-type method sans toilet paper and if I were alone I would need a roll a month, primarily to blow my nose.

A lot of toilet paper these days is super puffed. Cottonelle looks like a huge roll but is loosely wound and puffy. I remember as a kid when toilet paper was sold in 6 packs and seemed to last forever. These were normal sized rolls, not the super ones we buy nowadays. Kirkland put out a paper, individually wrapped rolls that are of the no nonsense variety. I think they are meant for use in restaurants, etc.

One of the reasons I DO NOT buy Purex!! A single roll use to be the same size as the current double roll.
