Is there a magic formula to buying these? I invariably buy them too short or mostly too long and have to double bow them, really annoying. |

Try the coiled elastic laces! One length fits all. Best of all, you only tie them once and you can push your feet into the shoes without bending down. Five bucks at Walmart, one if you can find them at a dollar store. |

No magic formula. It's determined by the number of eyelets. Some packages are marked. So count the eyelets on the shoe. I wish there was a way to cut them and add your own ends for threading. Now there's an invention for you. |

Went to Walmart and dollar stores (2) no laces like Delphi said. I bought the laces as you said Campy, must be done by a man for men's shoes because they are too long. gggrrrr I will wait till I can find the curly ones. |

What I do is put nail polish on the frayed ends and roll them in my fingers. That works for awhile. What I would like is a hollow tube and a crimper of some sort. |

Are you familiar with heat shrink tubing! Its used for insulating electrical splices. I have a stock of various sizes! Buy a small size, cut it to the length required, slip it over the end of the lace and hold it over a flame from a match or a candle! It shrinks down around the lace! |

I have never seen shrink tubing at a retail outlet. It's reserved for the elite at the wholesalers. |
