The Alberta government has launched two investigations into allegations that a company working on a massive oilsands construction project is hiring unqualified foreign workers to complete the work.

At the same time, more workers are coming forward to report that foreign workers who don't speak English are putting people in danger.

“The slightest miscommunication or anything — a major accident," said Dayne Brewster.

Canadians expose foreign worker 'mess' in oilsands

Brewster is a temporary worker from the United States, who was hired by Italy-based contractor Saipem working on the Sunrise Husky plant, about 60 kilometres north of Fort McMurray.

He said he fears for his safety while working on the site.

Earlier this week, CBC News reported on concerns from other Saipem workers, who accused the company of keeping unqualified foreign workers on staff while sending away certified Canadian applicants.

Sure taking a long time to clean up this program, seems one problem after another.

One of the biggest problems is that our school system set out to educate doctors, lawyers and such and forgot that we can only support so many of them. We need trade schools and a lot of them.
On the other hand just look at what we are promoting in our adds, cars, iphones etc. Our system is all screwed up.
Our Amish friends are just welcoming their 6th child. How can they afford this? Well they don't support the likes of GM, all their clothing is made at home and there is no such thing as being in style. The do not have hydro bills or insurance bills, their children are educated to grade 8 but are first class farmers, carpenters and other types of hands on work. The women all look 20 years younger than they are so I guess they don't mind how the system works. Yes there are some who fight the system and they do have a problem in their younger people with drugs but does that not make they human. Most of them appear to be quite happy.
They will work at the types of jobs that our children won't.
