Why are my tomatoes as green as grass, and are not ripening? I have four plants that are loaded but not ripening. A gardener at the local farmer's market said his were the same. He blames the high humidity we endured for a couple months. I'm thinking if that is so, they would never ripen in Ontario!

This year 2014 was bad for not ripening. Cool nights were to blame. Th quality was excellent but the quantity was poor. This situation is rare in my experience. I got plenty for the table but production was about 1/5 of a good year.

Same here. Just the year. I ripen them on my counter. Do not put them on the windowsill.

My mother used to ripen them in newspaper. I'm thinking in about another two weeks I'm going to have to do that. If I was really energetic I could make green tomato pickle ~ but I'm not!

Lucky you who have some to ripen. This is the first year that, not only have I not had them ripen, but I have had very few to even ripen.
From what I've heard all around, it was not a good year for tomatoes anywhere.

Oh no---they are very good here in the Wack. Exceptionally good as often we get an early blight with all the rain. I am getting offered juicy ripe tomatoes and have
had to turn down some as it was to many laugh123
