I have been on and off facebook, but lately I'm on. It is great for keeping in touch with people and events, etc. I can see how it
can also be used for vicious attacks or for spreading rumors. I have not had such trouble with the friends that I have. If I have a
bad experience with it, I will just take myself off again, but if used for the purposes intended, it is good.
Is it possible to get off facebook?
No .. once registered you are not only there for life but after your demise you cannot be removed.

Let's not say stupid Campy but not well informed about pitfalls. Many users have no idea that any picture can be photo shopped. Also child predators search for pictures of children and then can photo shop those pictures into porn & without the owner's knowledge or consent. Privacy does not exist either. Tell someone you are going on vacation, if a person uses their real name, picture and probably location too somewhere in a conversation ... it is a peace of cake to locate that person if the intent was on a robbery or other criminal offense. To be safe on Facebook the user has to be very security savvy.

FACEBOOK and TWITTER...not for me.

The world has enough info they can use against me without my adding more...in teeny half sentences made for the communications impaired.

I too hate links that go to Facebook and then demand I join, or precious video links to info I can only get by listening to tedious commercials.

I used to post alerts and advisories almost daily but no longer do.

I believe it is possible to remove your records from Facebook, and I did years ago.

Take care,
