Has anyone had experience with this tape for specific orthopedic issues? My wife is waiting for a shoulder replacement to relieve pain. My son in the US has a surgeon friend who claims he gets great relief from using this tape on his shoulder. He already had surgery on one shoulder and says the tape works so well he has postponed surgery on the other one. Sounds kind of quacky to me. Thanks.

Have not used it, but I've heard good things about it. I imagine it depends on the injury.

Some sites say it promotes blood flow in the area and increases anti-inflammatory action at the pain site. Evidently there are no scientific studies to support it. I can't imagine how a tape could do either of these things. Anyway when you have pain you will try almost anything. All the early settlers had was moonshine and willow bark.

Many runners use the tape. Something to do with allowing more blood flow. I assume the tape lifts the skin but the tearing off of the tape makes me think they are all masochists. Oh wait, of course they are - they run for pleasure.
However, seeing as moonshine is not an option I would use perhaps I will check out the tape prior to my surgery -.so long as I do not slip on the ice first.
