Hesperis matronalis, Dame’s rocket, is a most pleasant smelling wildflower is not native to NA. It is considered a noxious weed, but this year there are few, since many didn’t survive the severe winter. Most years the uncultivated disturbed areas are covered with these blooms. It is sometimes confused with phlox, but the flower has four petals and the phlox has five.Colors are white and shades of purple

Looks nice. Does it have any down-side, for example ... is it poisonous? Why is it considered noxious?

The plant is considered noxious as are many other non native types. Dame's rocket has a wonderful odor and is rather nice in a home garden, and it does not spread extensively in our Zone 5. It propagates by seed. It has no use except as an ornamental as far as I know. The flower lasts about three weeks and literally covers the country side some years.

It looks so much like PHLOX, including the wonderful odor.
I wonder if it's related?
