Same here for any help we give to addicts to use safely. The outrage expressed by the Canadian minister may be based on faulty information. It is an outrage for cpc to insist that those using weed do so by smoking only. http://psychcentral.com/news/2013/12/10/harvard-marijuana-doesnt-cause-schizophrenia/63148.html |

I agree Darcie. I saw her spiel replayed over and over again last night when I had the TV on. I agree also, she's just Steve's "puppet"! A former friend of ours works/or used to for her. My DH attended the opening of some Gov't affiliate in 2009, where Rona spoke, this friend was present taking the photos! She began volunteering for Rona and then eventually graduated to the payroll! At the time she asked me to come on board as well as a volunteer, of which I declined! |

A wise decision by the court. I'm a former smoker and the last thing I'd want to do is get back in that habit. I have a very good brownie recipe that I'd use if needed. |

If New York ever sees sense and legalized MJ, the first thing I'll do is get a few seeds and a couple BIG pots. My ESE Window will produce copiously. But I doubt it will become federally legal in my lifetime. |

Hooray, a good bit of good news:
Poor Obama is going to have to find another way to torture citizens. |

It's not like one can really trust that the true information of the clinical trials will be open and not kept secret, in part, or in whole. |

Marijuana has been used for centuries, by hundreds of millions of people. I think we have a fair bit of information about it and its effects. laugh123 |

Harper probably has already invested in marijuana production company's. That's why the monopoly legislation has been invoked. |

what's your point... do you have anything useful to ad? If people feel it helps them medically then go for it but if and when it is fully legalized, watch out. There's some a report out now from the U.S. on harmful effects, will have to look for it. If you really want a sleepy, fat doped up society then you'll get it. Neither do I see see society being any better off with legalizing a mind altering substance and in particular our children will not be better off. http://www.pnas.org/content/109/40/E2657.abstract A 2012 study of more than 1,000 New Zealanders from birth to age 38 found that “persistent cannabis use was associated with neuro psychological decline broadly across domains of functioning, even after controlling for years of education.” Long-term users saw an average decline of eight IQ points. http://www.ama-assn.org/assets/meeting/2013i/i13-addendum-refcomm-k.pdf American Medical Association concluded in recommending against legalization “Cannabis is a dangerous drug and as such is a public health concern.” It added: “It is the most common illicit drug involved in drugged driving, particularly in drivers under the age of 21. Early cannabis use is related to later substance use disorders.” |

If you really want a sleepy, fat doped up society then you'll get it. Neither do I see see society being any better off with legalizing a mind altering substance and in particular our children will not be better off. Get real. Cops will tell you privately that they would far prefer no alcohol and unlimited access to pot, because people don't get crazy and homicidal on pot. Alcohol's mind altering qualities and its shattering effects on families and children are well documented. But I have never heard of a family being traumatized and brutalized because one or both parents smoke pot. That does not mean potheads spend all their time doing nothing. I can pretty much guarantee that most of the construction trades anywhere in Canada work under a big cloud of marijuana. And so, for that matter, do hundreds of thousands of other people, including professionals. |

We are talking medical here, where a child who has epilepsy can ingest the drug in food form and not be legally made to smoke. Is this so difficult for a conservative minister of health to understand? If so, she certainly should resign. |
