X2 on that! Separate rooms for the toilet and tub makes a lot of sense with the quick use sink attached to the toilet. I agree with Trotsky, the wet bathroom idea is hard to get used to. We have that in our little motorhome. There is barely room to stand up in the the bathroom, which is also the shower. We love having a bathroom with us when traveling and camping but we haven't used the shower so far. There always seems to be a campsite shower, lake or pool available and preferred. Incidentally, do any of you know the difficulties of replacing an old toilet with a new one? I'm pretty sure ours are the oldies with the drain closer to the wall than the new ones. And if so, the upstairs one has a floor joist in the way if we try to replace with a new one. Suggestions most welcome. |

I don't like all the crevices and surfaces in that bathroom where mold can grown. I like simple surfaces that are easy to keep clean. What I would like is a shower stall or bath/shower combo that you can exit and then push a button to turn on hot blowing air to dry. I also look at all the plastic in that bathroom and think it will discolour and harden as it ages. A large open space getting wet never seems clean to me. The worst I've seen is on international HGTV shows where the flooded shower area includes a toilet! Ugh. |

Sorry Olive, We replaced ours and the new one fit right over the drain hole in the concrete floor. (The new one is a Kohler WELLWORTH, 6 Liter flush...nice looking but it tends to clog easily. I would not recommend it.) We have concrete floors so it is never practical to put in new drains. Edited by Trotsky, Jul 23 2015, 01:22 AM.

I agree. I cannot even bear to shower at home because of having to wipe down or squeegee walls, tile, and tub afterwards. Less aggravation to go to the gym and shower except their water flow sucks compared to mine. A plus is that THEY get to wash the towels. Edited by Trotsky, Jul 23 2015, 01:28 AM.

A very long long time ago I remember living near a tall apartment building that was retrofitted with bathroom and kitchens. The crane lifted these 'rooms' that were all equipped and lowered them one on top of each other. I remember thinking I would love to live there. |

I read a book by a Japanese author. It was a kind of a thriller. Anyway, these Japanese factory workers went into the business of killing people. To dispose of the bodies they cut them up in the shower so the shower water would clear all the blood away. I cant remember much else about it. The bathroom sounded neat and useful too, if you want to cut up a body or two. |

Many recreational vehicles that have bathrooms are plastic units with the toilet and hand basin inside the shower stall. And usually the plastic is a sand color, probably so as not to show discoloring! |
