Interesting post on an RV forum:

NAIO, When I am workbenching tech items with aching hands I use the external chemical DMSO as a liniment. But caution is needed. ALL chemicals and dirt on the skin need to be washed off with dish washing liquid and allowed to dry.

Then apply DMSO to knuckles, and wrist. Available in roll-on ad gel. I've been using it almost daily for 35-years. For arthritis, there is absolutely nothing else that takes away arthritis pain and inflammation. One application lasts me 5-6 hours.

Be careful with DMSO. It is a solvent and will carry bad skin contaminants into the bloodstream. Dishwashing liquid works perfect.

Read up on DMSO via a GOOGLE search. Ignore stupid alarmist screams. Those idiots will try and convince everyone breathing and drinking water is dangerous. DMSO is STANDARD athletic doctor treatment for strains and sprains for multi-million dollar contract athletes. World-Wide.

This will help to keep you working on your rig. Pure DMSO imparts a slight tingling or burning sensation to the area. Ignore it. Compared to the pain before treatment the side-effect is a laugh-a-thon.

This appears to be a good article on DMSO. The fact that it is dangerous if mishandled and you can get it virtually free has kept it from being sold in the U.S. As a drug. I look forward to seeing Trotsky's take on this!

I tried it for months long ago. It just does NOT work on humans.
Whether it works for horses I cannot say Aye or NEIGH.

Side effects for me.
1. When applied it a gives a strong taste of garlic to the mouth
2. After several days application to the same place, a contact dermatitis often results.

Both of these could be tolerated easily, but NOT WITHOUT POSITIVE RESULTS, and I really got none.
<I rate it as a well intentioned SCAM.>
