We had one just like the one on the right. It had to be the best dog ever. My 7 and 8 year old daughters were walking their little sister and the dog on the side of the road in Powell River. The dog was walking on the outside along with the little one. A driver came roaring down the road and the dog jumped up on my youngest and pushed her away.

The dog was killed by the driver in front of my children, and later the driver was found to be drunk.

I can't think of that without having tears in my eyes.

Darcie: How awful!! What a traumatic situation for your older daughters and the poor beautiful dog.

How sad Darcie, they are lovely dogs. We had one who lived to 15 and still would want to walk with me even if she had to lay down every so often.

They are beautiful dogs. We had one like the big light coloured one on the right at the back. He used to tow me across Soldier's Pool in the Hutt River.
