I haven't had a baked apple in a coon's age back to when they first developed home microwaves and I tried to microwave EVERYTHING and after an exploding potato I learned that some things should be PIERCED before microwaving. I'll try it with my next apple. |

Of course one could ruin it by pouring maple syrup over it and a big gob of whipped cream in the center garnished with a few ground nuts. Pick a red apple in pristine condition. Don't microwave over about 3 minutes since the nectar will evaporate. |

A favourite dessert here is baked apple with the core removed and the cavity stuffed with dates and walnuts mixed with a little orange zest and cinnamon. I put them in the oven resting on a slice of orange and pour a tablespoon or so of orange juice over each one. Very Christmassy flavour and always popular. |

That would be good! Or brandy, or bourbon. |

Cavity of the apple stuffed with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon! Mother used to prepare this on the farm, with a little butter added of course! |

Try the dates and walnuts, not overly sweet! Ad with the addition of orange it's sort of a quick and easy mincemeat flavour. |
