We grew some sorrel this year (and it is a perennial so we'll have it next year) and I decided to make sorrel and potato soup.

Very easy, and the result was wonderful, tasted very lemon-y. Wonder why it is not used a lot more.

I have had a sorrel drink which I liked, but the sorrel soup I tried once I didn't care for it at all.

This would be some 30 years ago, I don't remember. I do remember the host saying that not everyone would like it.

I don't recall how my mother made it but the soup was served with sour cream .

I love the taste of sorrel especially in a heavily creamed soup.
