When in Abu Dhabi I had carbonara, and it arrived with a sunny side up egg on top. Last night Kim went to the hockey game with a couple of friends and called to tell me that one had ordered linguine and it also came with an egg on top. This must be something new although I have found mamy sites on the Net so perhaps we are just behind the times. For myself, it did zip. That sounds like an eggnog to me Wildie which we too enjoyed. Have not had one years though. I know they sell eggnog in stores around this time of year which I think people mix with rum or some other spirit. Take care, Pat |

I was just going to say...... There is a Vietnamese Restaurant Pho Dau Bo in the city that serves a few dishes with an egg on top I rather liked it .. In fact i have used fried eggs or well done sunny side with some Polish dishes I have prepared |

what a wonderful diet incentive! One look at that and I would hurl and never eat again untll I was starving. I hate eggs and egg yolks make me nauseous. slimy little horrors. |

It's not easy to cook a sunny side up egg in the first place. I like them sunny side up but no runs. The secret is to cook the egg in one of those silicone rings. Then when you cook it you add a bit of water to the pan and cover it the pan. The steam from the water gets the egg cooked without runs. I call that the perfect egg. A chef friend of mine taught me that. I do that because I have one bitch of a time with easy over which is far from easy. Bon appetit. |

Yes. Eggs must be cooked hard and never those bright yellow things. Sure, I know the bright colour is supposed to be a sign of free-range chickens. I'd put money on some food additive being given to many chickens to help them achieve this. Gag. Another popular trend is a fried egg on top of your burger. Uh, not a chance. I couldn't eat that dish on a bet. It's not appetizing looking at all. Turns me right off. Good way to lose weight. Look at that dish and immediately lose your appetite. The saying goes. "Am I going to eat that or is it going to eat me?" |

Why not just flip the egg for 30 seconds to cure the "runny." Most would call them "over-light" or "over-easy." It takes a little dexterity to avoid breaking the yoke but a couple tries with a good thin spatula is a small learning curve. |

If you want sunnyside up eggs that are more cooked it is best to baste them at the end of cooking. The hot butter or whatever cooks the surface of the egg so it is firmer and more appetizing. |
