I agree Darcie. I think it is a lovely photo of them both. I like the fact that they are young and will bring fresh new ways to help solve issues in Canada. |

I have a lot more faith in the young than in the old geezers and geezerettes like me. |

Faith because of age? Strange reason to have faith. |

One can only hope that he doesn't turn out as arrogant as his father was. Perhaps his mother's influence will help. |

Hopefully he will not be as secretive and pompous and self interested as our last PM. |

Well Darcie he will be secretive. He has to be. He can't be blabbing government secrets all over the place. And he will dictate to his members on how they will vote. They won't be able to vote their conscience on matters of abortion. They must vote the party line or they won't even get the party nomination approval to run for office. See how it works? |

Exactly, he was honest and transparent. If their conscience won't allow them to accept abortion, they knew it up front...no surprise. It is like our Republicans being told they must sign a pledge not to raise taxes. |

Not allowing them to vote their conscience is not being open and transparent Bitsy no matter how you shake the cage. So now you have Catholics, that can't run for a Liberal office if they don't believe in abortion? And we complained about muzzling scientists? Edited by campy, Dec 11 2015, 07:47 AM.

It is if you know it before you put your hat in the ring, Campy. It is their party platform, and if you can't accept it, don't run.
You know, Campy, it is not the right of the government to tell a woman what to do with her body. Simple as that.
Scientist would have no reason to complain if they were told when they were hired that they could not speak freely but must run everything through the PMO. Harper changed rules on them in midstream...unlike Trudeau who is up front about what he expects. |

It is a woman's right in Canada to have access to an abortion. Why would Trudeau want people in his cabinet that would deprive a Canadian of their rights? |

Simply because the claim is openess and transparency. If you can't even run for the office because of a government not even in power, what have you got other than a dictatorship? Not only the cabinet. All the members except those already in office. By the way. There is no law on abortion in Canada. Do you see the hypocrisy.? |

I think all of the to-do over Trudeau is "Justinfied" (Knew ya'll would appreciate that). He is a new PM, a young guy with new ideas on the world stage. I think it's to be expected and will die down soon enough. He's only been in office a month. I am excited for Canada. |

Aha! But that would eliminate a representative from representing you which is a dictatorship. Your party then is not fair to the public All views should be presented. I don't see the other parties doing it.
There is no law on abortion in Canada Bitsy. The government is not telling a woman what to do.
Well wait a minute then. On your recommendations then if you don't like what the government wants and is paying you for then you should quit? These are employees not representatives of the public like an elected official. |
