Apparently we can’t stop tweeting it and looking at it. Its allure is surpassed only by our desire to figure out what the hell is going on.

Is he saying, “You know I love you, even if I have to work late at cabinet tomorrow,” while she replies “I don’t care, it still leaves me alone with three kids for supper?” Is the fact that he’s gazing into her ear and holding her hips into his own while she’s looking beyond him, at what’s coming, an accurate reflection of the dynamic of their relationship? Quite possibly. The camera has never frightened Justin or his wife, who worked as a correspondent for CTV, and as Mikhail Baryshnikov once said, the body never lies.

“We’ve been preparing for this for years,” Sophie said of the couple’s political career in a private interview with The Globe shortly before the election in October. “Once Justin decided to go on the political scene, all the spotlights were on him. I think we’ve done pretty well finding a balance and a centre. It can be very scrutinized. We see a lot of leaders and people in the public service and the political world reacting with fear, or intimidation, lack of respect for other human beings. I think not only Canada but the world as a whole is called upon to really choose leaders who can generate unity and compassion throughout the world. This is how you find peace, right? I think it starts from within. And Justin has that capacity to swim through crazy waters but keep his vision, keep calm. He doesn’t lose control. He analyzes. He opens up at that moment, whether it’s in the boxing ring and he’s getting shots, or whether it’s in the political ring, or in nature. His personality stays true to who he is, wherever he is. And I think that’s very reassuring.”

His weakness?

The whole world loves lovers.
I agree Darcie. I think it is a lovely photo of them both.
I like the fact that they are young and will bring fresh new ways to help solve issues in Canada.

Faith because of age?

Strange reason to have faith.

One can only hope that he doesn't turn out as arrogant as his father was. Perhaps his mother's influence will help.

Hopefully he will not be as secretive and pompous and self interested as our last PM.

Well Darcie he will be secretive. He has to be. He can't be blabbing government secrets all over the place.

And he will dictate to his members on how they will vote.

They won't be able to vote their conscience on matters of abortion. They must vote the party line or they won't even get the party nomination approval to run for office.

See how it works?

Exactly, he was honest and transparent. If their conscience won't allow them to accept abortion, they knew it up front...no surprise. It is like our Republicans being told they must sign a pledge not to raise taxes.

Not allowing them to vote their conscience is not being open and transparent Bitsy no matter how you shake the cage.

So now you have Catholics, that can't run for a Liberal office if they don't believe in abortion?

And we complained about muzzling scientists?

It is if you know it before you put your hat in the ring, Campy. It is their party platform, and if you can't accept it, don't run.

You know, Campy, it is not the right of the government to tell a woman what to do with her body. Simple as that.

Scientist would have no reason to complain if they were told when they were hired that they could not speak freely but must run everything through the PMO. Harper changed rules on them in midstream...unlike Trudeau who is up front about what he expects.

It is a woman's right in Canada to have access to an abortion. Why would Trudeau want people in his cabinet that would deprive a Canadian of their rights?

Simply because the claim is openess and transparency.

If you can't even run for the office because of a government not even in power, what have you got other than a dictatorship?

Not only the cabinet. All the members except those already in office.

By the way. There is no law on abortion in Canada.

Do you see the hypocrisy.?

I think all of the to-do over Trudeau is "Justinfied" (Knew ya'll would appreciate that). He is a new PM, a young guy with new ideas on the world stage. I think it's to be expected and will die down soon enough. He's only been in office a month. I am excited for Canada.

Aha! But that would eliminate a representative from representing you which is a dictatorship. Your party then is not fair to the public All views should be presented. I don't see the other parties doing it.

Well wait a minute then. On your recommendations then if you don't like what the government wants and is paying you for then you should quit? These are employees not representatives of the public like an elected official.
