Glad to hear it. I didn't think of you as the type to judge a man on the job for only a month. |

He has a majority. I'm concerned as a Canadian about his policies. |

And that is why the world was mourning his departure during Trudeau's world visit? ROFL. But you keep thinking that, Campy, you need it to validate your blind support for the man. Better to lie to yourself than admit the truth. Edited by Bitsy, Dec 11 2015, 03:12 PM.

I can see the whole world crying at the loss of Harper. Links please if anyone have found any outside of Canada. We know that 68.1% in Canada did not vote CPC so I am assuming they are not crying and that 31.9% may be crying. |

The truth was that he was admired as a world leader. My support is not blind. That's just your opinion. Canada's position in world rankings shows that. Hey we are off topic now. The topic is the picture in Vogue magazine, Edited by campy, Dec 11 2015, 03:22 PM.

And no one, well maybe Bibi, cares the he is gone. Most seem to be impressed with Trudeau.
Well, you are taking this loss very hard.
Without knowing the rankings you mean, I can say that most of them had little to do with Harper.
But you aren't being disrespected are you? |

First, I have no political affiliation. The Trudeaus are doing what any media smart politician does. Most non-Canadians will have no ideas about policies, only that they're a young, loving couple who represent Canada. |

Impressed? It's more of rock star adulation. Doesn't mean a thing as far as leadership goes. Harper proved himself.
Yep. Because I was happy with the government we had. Now I have to worry about changes and how they will affect me. Canada's position in world rankings shows that.
No Bitsy. The leader of Canada had a lot to do with the world rankings among them one of the best countries in the world to live in. That comes from government policies and leadership. Hey we are off topic now. The topic is the picture in Vogue magazine,
Just backing up my previous contention that topics often go astray and that it's no big deal. The comment that I read was that I should start a new thread. |

The free world has lost its leader. In the absence of a vigorous American foreign policy, Canada's Stephen Harper supplied his own. For the better part of a decade, he energetically championed Western interests. He was serious about fighting terrorism, keen on free trade and prepared to deploy proportionate force in defense of freedom. His defeat in last week's Canadian general election will be felt far beyond that sparse, chilly country. When other Western leaders fretted about Israel's 2006 Lebanon war, he gave his full backing to the Jewish state. When others dithered over Putin's invasion of Ukraine, he led international condemnation. Obliged to meet Vladimir Putin at a summit meeting, he was admirably curt: "I guess I'll shake your hand, but I have only one thing to say to you: Get out of Ukraine." Canada, like most countries, partly defines itself with reference to what it isn't; but Harper was uncomplicatedly pro-American and pro-British. In his first overseas speech as prime minister, he told a London audience how glad he was that his was a common-law, Anglosphere nation. As a matter of historical fact, this might not seem especially radical; but, my goodness, what a refreshing break from the line taken by previous Canadian leaders, namely that their country was a happy multiculti fusion of First Peoples and Acadians and Vietnamese boat people http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/the-free-world-has-lost-its-leader/article/2574696 |
