Criminal charges were laid Thursday against two top aides to former premier Dalton McGuinty after a lengthy OPP probe into deleted computer hard drives related to the cancelled gas-fired power plants.

David Livingston, 63, McGuinty’s last chief of staff, and deputy chief Laura Miller, 36, were charged with breach of trust, mischief in relation to data, and misuse of a computer system. They will appear in court Jan. 27.

Miller, who now lives in Vancouver, confirmed she has been charged by the Ontario Provincial Police.

Livingston, who has long been under investigation over the breach of trust allegations, was not immediately available for comment.

About time, hopefully this will shed some light.

It really is time to boot that bunch out.

When they're not corrupt, they're incompetent.

Even setting aside the gas plant stuff, which is hard to do, they have screwed up everything to do with health care, include the Ornge medical helicopter mess, putting health care records online, the CCACs, and much much more. Must add up to billions.

And that's just health care. Imagine what investigators might find in other ministries.

But jeez... Patrick Brown or Horvath?

Horvath is scary but Patrick Brown is terrifying.

Maybe we will have to insist and be actively involved in cleaning up what is there first, we have to deal with them for a few years anyhow.

I don't think Horvath could be any worse than the gang we have now.

Why is Patrick Brown terrifying, so far he hasn't said or done much of anything to scare anyone, I'd like to know.

I bet the two Wynne Liberal staffers criminally charged will not be hauled away in leg chains by OPP. So, how can Wynne restore credibility now?

Well, there's this.

During his Ontario PC Party leadership campaign, Brown was noted for his ardent social conservatism,[7][8] and his criticism of Ontario's sex education in schools.[9]
In December 2006, while working as an MP, Brown voted to repeal same-sex marriage in Canada.[10][11] Brown also voted against several bills between 2011 and 2013, which were aimed at amending the Canadian Human Rights Act to include gender expression and identity, and the Criminal Code, to prevent discrimination.[12]

He also had the worst, or one of the worst, attendance records as a federal MP, misused his federal postal privileges, falsely claimed credit for a charity event. Etc.

Sounds pretty scary to me.

Have any of those charges been proven, those charges came from the NDP seemingly in retaliation to the millions they owe.

According to this he's left some of his anti abortion etc. views behind..

Charges? From NDP? WTF?

It is this guy's voting and attendance record, and otherwise, the public record. As to abortion, he says it's not a provincial matter.

It was the NDP who complained about his spending demanding an investigation by the Board, the same board they called a ‘kangaroo court’ because their spending was investigated.

Jim Karrygiannis while an MP actually held the worst attendance record in Parliament, however, that does not excuse Brown, mind you they don’t track attendance anymore.

Your twistings and evasions would do you proud at a Stalinist kangaroo court.

So you are not denying that the charges came from the NDP. Never mind, if all you have are personal attacks then you have nothing.

You are proving my point about kangaroo trials.
