This is a disgrace. Some people really rely on Goodwill. Some have 4 or 5 kids and have no other choice. The executive team make sure they get a big chunk. They leave all the donations outside the store instead of creating a place to drop them so the scavangers don't go through them at night and help themselves. |

It annoys me when I see stuff dumped on the sidewalk in front of the store by lazy people who can't be bothered taking it inside when the store is open, or putting it in a donation container elsewhere. |

Years ago, someone who was regularly going through the stuff left outside after hours was caught on security cam and had his picture published in the paper. As he worked serving the public I am sure he got a lot of flack for doing that. |

This will leave a huge hole in the used clothing and furniture market in Toronto. Hope the Salvation Army will step up and run some of these locations. They know how to do it. |

Here in London many of the stores give them unsold clothing and at times furniture items. I suppose they get a tax receipt for it. Often you will find items that still have the store tags on it and there are items that are towards the high end. I got a shirt that had a $283 tag on it from The Bay and my 5th new winter coat had a tag from the same store for $396. I got the shirt for $3.75 and the coat for $8.75. I have seen very nice purses for $5.75 that are new, my girlfriend got a Guess purse that was new. Having said that, you have to be careful as their pricing is often over the top, I have seen items that are used be higher priced than they would be if they were new. Value Village also has similar new items. |
