1 can chunk-light tuna packed in water, drained
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup finely chopped granny smith apple
3 Tbps light mayo
2 tsps fresh lemon juice
1 tsp curry powder

Serve on your favourite bread.

Calories for recipe without bread approximately 270 depending on the type of mayo you use. Mine has 90 calories.

Darcie, it sounds tasty. I'm not a tuna eater from 1978 when mum and I joined weight watchers . It was the staple . Having lost the weight I said at the end I'd never face tuna again. Needless to say the weight crept on over the years. I don't mind pink salmon, of course more expensive.

And I have detested canned salmon ever since it was rammed into us as children every Friday. I tried it again the other day. Have to say I detest it still, probably more now.

I love canned salmon, tuna not so much, but will tolerate broiled tuna buns with cheese. I also make a tuna casserole occasionally.

Your recipe sounds good Darcie, will try it. I just use mayo, sweet onion, worchestershire sauce, salt and pepper

That looks like a nice spin on tuna salad.

Butterscotch ice cream is the thing I hate from my childhood for no real reason. One time after eating it, I had a minor tummy ache. Nothing serious, just the taste of butterscotch gives me negative feeling.

Also hate liver, but that's for good reason. It tastes terrible.

The smell of peach brandy makes me sick, once had too much when I was younger. Even now I have to force myself to eat peaches.

I have a mercurial relationship with tuna. We'll get along great for awhile, then break up and go our separate ways when a new canned fish comes along.

I like canned tuna added to my Macaroni and cheese casserole. To be honest one cannot even taste it in that dish and you get your supply of fish for the day.

Definitely and home canned the best. Years ago I used to pressure can salmon every year.

I do not like pink salmon as it gives me a tummy ache.

I like the idea of apple being added and will try it. I enjoy a tuna or sockeye salmon salad or sandwich now and then. It's a good way to add protein to a diet.

The best is correct. My aunt and uncle lived in Langley, whenever we visited we were served home canned salmon, so delicious!
