Police have made an arrest in connection with the Monday attack against a Muslim mom at a London grocery store.

On Tuesday police released a picture of the suspect, asking for the public's help in identifying her.

News of the incident sparked outrage on social media and cast London into national headlines.

After receiving multiple tips about the suspect’s identity and whereabouts through public efforts, police charged a 38-year-old woman.

She was arrested at 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Sad - this is not the attention Canada wants or needs.

Quoting limited to 2 levels deep
Wildie a) it's most unnlikely that this woman suffered a traumatic incident at the hand of ISIS and b) even if she did she certainly knows that this woman with her child in a shopping mall is not responsible.
On this point, you and I must agree to disagree! I think that its highly likely that she would have ill feelings towards Muslims. I'll be looking forward to observing her day in court!

Back in the 70s I had neighbors who were refugee's from Iraq! They were Christian and driven from their home by the Muslims.
I became close to this family and spent many occasions watching CFL games in their home. A younger brother, a man in his early 20s and single, lived with these neighbors.
When news of a Muslim leader was to visit California, the young man was dispatched by their community to assassinate him. The assassination was carried out and the assassin was apprehended. He was found to be guilty and sent to prison. He served his time and was then deported back to Canada, when released.
I mention this in order to make my point, that these refugee's bring their hatred with them and who is to say how this could or would be manifested!

I do not think that Canada should keep someone who is an assassin, as laudable as you may think that his motives were, this is not the Canadian way, nor is it anything we should ever find acceptable.

We are not vigilantes - we have courts of law to give out punishments. That is the way of the wild west and of uncivilized countries.

I will bet you that the attacker is a natural born Canadian.

The article says " woman glaring at her and mumbling in a foreign language" so unless she was French Canadian she might not be a natural born Canadian, but I think the woman might have recognized French.

OK, wager lost perhaps, but my point stands. Even if ISIS did something to you there is no reason to think this mother and her child were responsible.

Well, speaking a foreign language means nothing, I have a granddaughter who speaks German, one grandson who speaks Polish and another granddaughter who speaks Spanish.

All are born in Canada. Many Canadians who are born here speak other languages.

Sure they do, but generally speaking I would wager if you are muttering about something you were angry about it would be in your home language.

The woman who was attacked took the photo. I know I wouldn't be that calm or rational if I were attacked. There are details being left out of this story.

No matter what the 'story' is, there is no reason to attack a person unless you are defending yourself.

My point was that the police aren't telling us everything so the court of public opinion have decided the attack was unprovoked. The attack shouldn't have happened, but we don't know what caused it.

I don't trust the media anymore to give a full account, just a story that sells.

"If you experienced atrocities at the hands of a different religion, it would be difficult to restrain yourself when faced with a member of the group that visited violence upon you and yours."

If we are told by the powers that be that a certain group is committing atrocities (stealing christian babies for secret religious rituals) and committing usury by lending us money for interest or whatever else we might be afraid of we do become fearful whether there is cause or not. We start persecuting innocents in order to protect ourselves. Never forget to look back at what happened to the German people prior to WW2. We can always be duped into fear, can't we. Time has proven that repeatedly. And Trump is proving it again in the US now.

It looks like there is another side to the story but it's not for public consumption right now I guess. It would be interesting to see the surveillance video.

Well, there is another side ..

For those who don’t want to watch the video, the attacker was Sheila Shaidae, an immigrant from Iran who speaks Farsi so needed a court translator. There was no court publication ban so the reporter had no problem getting her name.

It appears that the media has dropped the story because it doesn’t fit into their narrative.

Anyone who want to bring their illegal habits to this country should be sent back there where they can be themselves to their hearts content.

She is still irrational and hateful, this woman and her baby did nothing to her.

It is as I thought it was, she is carrying her baggage with her which has to relationship to current facts.

I understood the reason they did not publish her identity was to protect her. I also understood quite clearly from the media reports that it was NOT being investigated as a hate crime.
