Police have made an arrest in connection with the Monday attack against a Muslim mom at a London grocery store.

On Tuesday police released a picture of the suspect, asking for the public's help in identifying her.

News of the incident sparked outrage on social media and cast London into national headlines.

After receiving multiple tips about the suspect’s identity and whereabouts through public efforts, police charged a 38-year-old woman.

She was arrested at 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Sad - this is not the attention Canada wants or needs.

Funny how we all have comments as to why this is OK because this occurred between two visible minorities and a Muslim.

............
No one has said it`s okay so don`t impute words that were not said. The only reason it was reported in the first place was because the reporter thought it was a good story about a `white Canadian`hitting on a Muslim, gotta be a hate crime. If it had been, you can bet they would be following up on it.

We may never know why Shaidaie did this or the the outcome as the media is no longer interested now that it doesn`t play into their narrative.

What is the media's narrative?

I think the media is not commenting because there is nothing further to say unless someone makes a statement or until it comes to court.

If I were attacked I wouldn't have the clarity to pull out my phone camera.

Her brother in law took the picture.

He posted the picture, but I believe she took it. It was reported that she was using her phone to contact police and took a picture. I am sure I would not think of that, but I am not of the generation that takes pictures at a moment's notice, and the notion that phones are cameras is still something of a novelty to me! Younger generations take it for granted.

Here is how it seems to work for some people. Had a phone call from my sister in law. She was really upset that Trudeau et al were walking in the parade. When I reminded her the three of the would be conservative leaders were also walking the subject was dropped. She also supports Trump because he says what we all believe but are afraid to say. This to me is how hate against some groups is spread.

Well, there is another side ..

For those who don’t want to watch the video, the attacker was Sheila Shaidae, an immigrant from Iran who speaks Farsi so needed a court translator. There was no court publication ban so the reporter had no problem getting her name.

It appears that the media has dropped the story because it doesn’t fit into their narrative.
Thanks for the link! It mirrors my thoughts that the woman charged was found guilty in the court of public opinion. There is always another side to a story and it seemed to me that what we were hearing was totally one-sided.
In fact, rather than position herself to protect her child, she whipped out her phone and started snapping photos. For what purpose?

She was using her phone to call the police.
Still doesn't add up. This was a public market. Someone being attacked would scream and someone else would be calling the police. I'd be thinking more about my protecting my baby than taking a picture.

The attacker was definitely angry. The woman attacked wasn't so phased that she couldn't stop to take a photo. No, just doesn't add up for me.
