Kahlua was to the vet last night for her second vaccination. I had thought she might weigh 13 lbs. now but she is 14.6 lbs. The Mini Goldendoodles are supposed to be 30-40 lbs. but the vet thinks she will be close to 40. Hard to tell though as Montana was the largest puppy in her litter and was actually on the small size for a Golden. Even though we have had dogs for 53 years, I had forgotten just how to teach a dog to walk on a leash. I goofed when I put her on the leash and we walked around the perimeter of the yard a couple of times with her acting like a bucking bronco. I did some research and a friend confirmed that putting the leash on her and letting her run around the yard with no one on the other end would get her comfortable with it. When we left for the vet Harley went with us, and when she saw he was on a leash surprisingly she walked quite well. We will take them both for short walks the next few nights and see if the good behaviour continues. Take care, Pat |
