During the last 4 years I have purchased 5 toasters, inexpensive, expensive, made here, imported. Anyone got any suggestions about a toaster that is consistent and toasts both sides evenly? |

Cuisinart toaster oven for me. It's used every day. Much cheaper and cooler than turning on the big oven. There are no issues with cleaning. Wipe off the door and every so often pull out the crumb tray. I use a Pampered Chef stoneware pan for cooking. I line it with parchment paper so there's virtually no cleanup. Does anyone still use an electric fry pan? |

Funny, I looked at a couple dozen T-Fal toaster on line this morning and all seem to say "Avante." Ours does not, just "T-Fal." (It also seems that our $50 price at Target was pretty good.) When we want 4 slices (like two sliced English muffins) we use the toaster oven that accommodates 4 or 6 slices. |

Shorty, I still use my electric fry pan for quite a few things I've been making for years. It lends itself to old fashioned recipes. I also use it for prep when i'm sauteing rice or stuff for spicy sausage and pasta. I like it and would feel lost without it. |

Mine is a four slice T-fal toaster. I agree Angora, I like my electric fry pan for stir frys etc. My daughter never uses one and I find it such a pain to cook pancakes in a cast iron on the stove. |

No trouble with ours, a Proctor-Silex 4 slicer. It says 1470 watts on the bottom plate. We hardly ever toast more than two slices. It is important to clean toasters occasionally to prevent fire and keep it functioning well. A good cleaning involves taking the bottom off to access the inside. |

I am thinking a long slot might be what I need. Something sleek that takes up little space. Out counter space will be less than what we had. There is a pantry so appliances might live there. |

Be careful you don't make coffee at the same time. |
