No I don't believe he has as he cannot afford it, and neither can we!

Is acupuncture expensive? During the time I was in agony for months due to my misdiagnosed bleeding ulcers, my doctors sent me to the pain clinic at Sunnybrook and they tried several things to relieve the pain. ONe of them was acupuncture and it was paid for by OHIP, presumably because it was in hospital Pain Clinic. Maybe he son could get at it that way.

I pay $50 a treatment. I have help from my daughters. He works 7 days a week, referred by my doctor's nurse who had it herself for arthritis in her neck.

It is not a forever thing 5 treatments for the top of my back and I only get very rare breakthrough sensations (not pain). This was for the thoracic area of my back. I now have to go for the lumbar area starting on Sunday.

I would suppose acupuncture would be covered at the pain clinic as all his phiso was. The Dr. there just perscribed narcotics for his pain which he still takes. AB. health only covers so many phsio treatments, and nothing for acupuncture the last time i inquired but that was five years ago.

Gabapentin works for those who BELIEVE. A common placebo with no real evidence to back up its effectiveness.

Have been wondering if your son found anything that would help Chase other than surgery Angora.

Take care,
Pat

thanks for asking. They were at their cottage for a couple of weeks. Chase is on a number of meds, they are massaging him and he has been in the water, swimming every day. They say that he is no longer limping and they think the combination of things is helping. They are looking for a dog park with a water feature so he can continue the swimming. they feel it has helped a lot.

He is a big dog and has not been getting the exercise he needs so that in itself probably helped a lot.

Glad to hear Chase is doing much better. Harley had water therapy after his knee surgery and it helped.

Take care,
Pat
