Choose up to three of the topics below and write 150 words or more for each topic. Post your writing as a reply to this topic, and be sure to include your HOL ID. Each topic you complete is worth 10 points. You can write about as many topics as you like, but you can only get 30 points maximum (and for next month's extra credit you'll need to write about the new topics). 1. Memory Lane Take a few short trips down memory lane. Write the truth, embellished memories, or make everything up! Use the starting phrases to get you started down the path. I remember learning... I remember biting... I remember the balloons... I remember falling... 2. Nuts and Bolts Use these five expressions in a short story. Got a screw loose Sharp as a tack Nail it down On the level Flew off the handle 3. Choices, choices Choose one: A) I'd like to be able to fly using my own powers B*) I'd like to be able to make myself invisible You now possess this super power for the story you are about to write. Start with: It was just a teeny-weeny little lie... 4. Freshman-itis You are a high school freshman. Write from this low man on the totem pole perspective. Be a teenager. Use these initials for a name: NAK A nickname: Eye color: Hair color: Nicknames of your best friends: How they treat you: How you treat them: Favorite food: Thoughts on sports: Start with: It hasn't been the best day, but it certainly hasn't been the worst. 5.
